Parking In and Around Ipswich

One of the most common issues that residents and visitors to the Waterfront (and town centre, for that matter) face, is that there is a significant absence of free or low-cost parking.

At the Waterfront Business Meeting - held every quarter by Ipswich Central and hosted by Ashtons Legal - this topic is often brought up by the venues gracing our marina; as a real issue that sees lack of footfall and a decline in business - a constant threat in a world where our high streets are seeing shops closing at a rate of knots.

We are very happy to now share the news that St Peter’s Dock car park - once completed - will play host to reduced car parking after 2pm; similar to Crown Car Park (£2 after 2pm), Cardinal Park (£1 after 6pm) and the Buttermarket (free after 7pm) - but much closer!

We sincerely hope that this move by Ipswich Borough Council will encourage more visitors to the Waterfront, particularly those wishing to dine in one of the many wonderful restaurants in the area.
