Start 2019 With A Laugh At Ipswich Regent Theatre

The pantos have begun, the Christmas shopping is in full swing, the new Cornhill is looking tremendous with a new tree, and the Christmas lights are twinkling away… Time to think about how you’ll celebrate the start of 2019!

With a huge host of weeklong musicals and more opportunities to spend evenings with big names and big bands, January kicks off the year with some top stand-up comedy touring the UK’s comedy circuit.

Coming up:

Mike McClean, Ipswich Regent

Sat 19 January

Mike’s delighted to be returning to Ipswich, to perform his new stand-up show and appear in the Christmas pantomime.  Mike will play the comedy fool in Snow White at the Regent. Then he hopes you’ll join him back at the Regent for lots more laughs on 19th January in his new comedy show for grown-ups.

Many of you may also be fans of Mike as a TV presenter and actor on THE BIG BREAKFAST, RICHARD & JUDY, THE OFFICE and MY MAD FAT DIARY.

Join Mike for an evening of top class comedy which will have you laughing and rolling about on the floor. As part of the evening Mike will also perform his new alternative mind-reading act.

Nish Kumar, Ipswich Regent

Sat 26 January

Double Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee Nish Kumar is taking his brand new show on a national tour of the UK! The title is a quote from Terminator 2. There will be jokes about politics, mankind’s capacity for self-destruction, and if this will lead to the end of days. GOOD FUN STUFF. He’s the host of the Mash Report, which you might have seen on BBC 2 or on a Facebook video posted by someone you went to school with but haven’t spoken to in a while.

As seen on Live at the Apollo (BBC2), Taskmaster (Dave), Live From the BBC (Netflix), QI (BBC2) Have I Got News For You (BBC1) and Joel & Nish Vs The World (Netflix/Comedy Central).

dave gorman, ipswich regent

Wed 6 February

Dave Gorman, the man behind Dave TV’s hit show Modern Life Is Goodish as well as Are You Dave Gorman? and Googlewhack Adventure, is back on the road with a brand new live show, returning to Ipswich for the second time after a sell-out October show! As the title suggests, he’s bringing his laptop and projector screen with him so expect the ‘King of Powerpoint comedy’ (Guardian) to have more detailed analysis of those parts of life you’ve never stopped to think about before. Hey, not all heroes wear capes.

With support from Nick Doody.
