Christmas Is Feeling Cosy!
Chilly days and darker evenings creeping in can only mean one thing – Christmas is upon us! And what better way to get the festive celebrations underway than by planning a Christmas party to remember.
We were delighted to recently be invited to an exclusive preview of Cosy Club’s new festive menu. With enticing cocktails and three courses of deliciously warming Winter food on offer, Cosy Club are putting on a feast to tickle everybody’s tastebuds!
Starting the occasion off the right way, you can choose from a variety of arrival drinks from £3.95pp; including traditional mulled wine or cider, or something a little more sparkling with a glass of Durello – a great alternative to Prosecco from the same region of northern Italy.
All the classic cocktails from Cosy Club’s usual menu are well and truly ‘on the table’ – but we recommend trying the cheeky Cherry Bakewell, or lighter English Garden for the gin fans of the group! Both cocktails – along with a Pink Lemonade mocktail for the designated drivers! – are available as pitchers. Finish your meal with the creamy Forest Gateau – a rum-based delight mixed with cherry, chocolate and coffee – we guarantee you won’t regret it!
Moving onto the food, and Cosy Club have pulled out all the starter stops; offering a sharing platter with a selection of everyone’s favourites – no more ‘umming and aahing’ about which starter to go for, when you can have it all! Slow-cooked Pork Belly Bites, Smoked Salmon Blinis and Mushroom, Tarragon & Chestnut Pâté all make an appearance on this cleverly matched plate of flavours…but our personal favourites? Cumberland Pigs in Blankets and Baked Camembert with sourdough toast and fig & date chutney tick all the Christmassy boxes.
One of the most frustrating parts of booking a meal in advance is deciding what you’re going to fancy in five weeks’ time. At Cosy Club, forget the pain of collating everybody’s meal orders – there is no pre-ordering required, meaning you can turn up at your event and see what dishes take your fancy for main and dessert. No more on-the-night disappointment of thinking you’d ordered something sweet, and ending up with cheese and biscuits!
Cosy Club have covered all bases with their main meal offerings; catering to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests with ease. Forget your bog-standard Christmas dinner with tasteless turkey and soggy roast potatoes and take your pick from a Norfolk Turkey & Bacon Pie – complete with pigs in blankets, Confit Duck Leg accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes, or our particular favourite; Halloumi & Winter Vegetable Wellington. Even as non-vegetarians, this take on a classic Wellington – served with roasted maple-glazed carrots and parsnips – went down a real treat.
If you still have room (and if you don’t – make some, because you’ll need it!) indulge yourself by rounding off your festive feast with one of the perfectly selected dessert choices. Chocoholics, rejoice: you can toy between the Chocolate & Orange Torte or Chocolate Brownie & Cinder Toffee Trifle (both as deliciously rich as they sound), or for something lighter, perhaps a Limoncello Cheesecake will hit the right spot with its bitter sweetness. Traditional foodies will be pleased to know that Christmas Pudding and an English Cheese Selection both remain firmly in place on the menu too!
The festive 3-course menu is available for £27.95pp from 22nd November – 24th December inclusive, and bookings can be made by visiting cosyclub.co.uk/christmas-2018, where the full menu can also be viewed.
